Manager, Recruitment and Member Services
Headquartered in Ottawa, the National Association of Federal Retirees (Federal Retirees) is the nation’s advocacy group for federal retirees. This vital, not-for-profit association represents more than 175,000 members in 79 branches across Canada. Their membership represents pensioners, partners, and survivors from the public service, the Canadian Armed Forces, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and federal judges. Federal Retirees is now looking for their new Manager of Recruitment and Member Services to promote membership growth, retention, and engagement.
The Manager of Recruitment and Member Services plays a critical role in building awareness for the services and benefits that Federal Retirees offer. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the incumbent will support the development and implementation of a cohesive membership recruitment strategy. The Manager will also lead a team of Client Services Associates in delivering on membership recruitment initiatives including outreach campaigns; digital and print media, trade shows, and events. In addition, the Manager will work collaboratively with the Marketing and Communications team to provide the branches and volunteers with the tools and support needed to attract new members.
As an ideal candidate, you possess a university degree in a relevant field as well as a proven track record in membership recruitment, preferably from a large, not-for-profit association. Fluently bilingual, you have a minimum of five years’ experience as a strong campaign manager and have leveraged traditional and digital media to support an organization’s initiatives. You are action-oriented and driven by results, using data analytics to measure the success of recruitment/membership campaigns. You are a skilled communicator with a consultative and collaborative leadership style. As a true team player, you enjoy coaching, mentoring, and developing teams. You understand how to navigate public sector communication channels and bring creative inspiration into your campaign management strategies. Ultimately, you are a passionate individual with a commitment to improving the quality and security of retirement for Canadians.
