Can I give the gift of membership to anyone?
You can only purchase a gift for someone who is eligible for membership with the National Association of Federal Retirees. Membership is open to anyone paying into or receiving a pension from Canada's Public Service, the RCMP or the Canadian Armed Forces, federally appointed judges and to honourably discharged non-pensioned veterans. Anyone receiving a survivor benefit from the pensions mentioned above is also eligible.
Can I give the gift of membership to someone who is not yet retired?
You sure can. We may be named the National Association of Federal Retirees, but that’s just because we’re working to make retirement better – many of our members are still working! You can purchase a gift for anyone who is eligible for membership, even if they aren’t retired.
What forms of payment are accepted when purchasing a gift membership?
We can take credit card payments when you call. Visa and Mastercard are accepted forms of payment.
I’d like to buy a gift now, but I’m not ready for the recipient to know. Can I buy a gift in advance?
Absolutely! If you’d like to purchase a gift in advance of a special date, we can help you keep it a secret. We’ll mail all the materials to you, so you can give it to the recipient when it’s time. Be sure to let us know you’d like to do this when you call to place your order.
Can I buy a gift membership through the online checkout?
At this time, we can only accept gift membership orders over the phone. We’re sorry for any inconvenience, but we can promise you a quick and helpful experience when you do call!
