Now, you can make the switch to paying by DDS online — it’s quick, easy and secure!
Still paying for your Federal Retirees membership annually by cheque or credit card? There’s a better way!
The Dues Deduction at Source (DDS) payment option is the simplest and most convenient way to pay for your membership with Federal Retirees and to automatically renew it annually.
Thanks to our relationship with the Treasury Board and the Pension Centre, the DDS option allows your membership fees to be deducted directly from your pension on a monthly basis. This translates to $4.66 per month for a single membership, or $6.05 per month for a double. If you have any questions, please check out our FAQs below or contact our member services team.
Any existing member who makes the switch to DDS will receive a one-time special offer of three free months of membership. That's a savings of 25 per cent!
This offer is also available for new members who opt to pay by DDS when they join.
Members can now select the DDS payment option when renewing online, or by phone at 1-855-304-4700 ext. 300.

Will making the switch to DDS affect my pension or cause me Phoenix-related problems?
No, choosing to pay for your membership through DDS will not cause any changes to your pension aside from deducting the membership fees each month. We have also been in touch with the Pension Centre and can assure you that choosing to pay for your membership through a deduction from your pension will not cause Phoenix-related complications for you.
You can switch your payment method or cancel the monthly deductions quickly and easily anytime simply by giving us a call or sending us an email. It’s hassle-free, risk-free and the best way to maintain your membership with Federal Retirees!
Yes, you can! For existing members, you can select the DDS option when you renew online. This can be done three months from the expiration date of your membership. If you would like to switch to DDS earlier than three months from your renewal date, simply call the recruitment and member services team and let us know over the phone at 1-855-304-4700 ext. 300. Your new payment method, along with your three free months, will be automatically applied to your account when your current paid year of membership is up.
Unfortunately, the DDS payment option is not available to current employees or to those in receipt of judges’ pensions or judges’ survivor allowances.
