Until the transition of the PDSP to Canada Life, effective Nov. 1, 2024, all claims should continue to be sent to Sun Life.

As previously announced, the Pensioners’ Dental Services Plan (PDSP) will transition to Canada Life, effective Nov. 1, 2024. Until that date, all dental claims should continue to be sent to Sun Life.

Positive Enrolment with Canada Life

As part of the contract with Canada Life, a mandatory positive enrolment process is required. For this transition, Canada Life is completing the PDSP positive enrolment on behalf of plan members. The Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) advises that 99 per cent of current PDSP members will have their positive enrolment completed by Canada Life.

For more details, visit the Canada Life PDSP member services website or consult the latest information from TBS.

Canada Life is currently sending positive enrolment validation packages, by mail and email, informing plan members that positive enrolment has been completed on their behalf. You’re encouraged to review the directions from Canada Life to validate your personal information.

Plan members can register with and sign into the Canada Life PDSP member services website to view and validate their positive enrolment details.

If your PDSP account indicates that you prefer paper-based communication, you'll receive confirmation of positive enrolment by mail. If you notice any personal information that need to be updated, be sure to follow the instructions provided by Canada Life to make the necessary changes as soon as possible. Please note that, if you wish to receive your reimbursements by direct deposit, you must add your banking information to your account.

TBS advises, if no edits are required to the positive enrolment information, PDSP members can simply send in their first claim to Canada Life starting Nov. 1.  Submitting a claim will be deemed to be implied consent to allow Canada Life to use your personal information to adjudicate claims.

If you don’t hear from Canada Life (by mail or email) by mid-September, positive enrolment could not be completed on your behalf. In this case, TBS advises plan members to complete positive enrolment themselves, online or by mail.

For paper copies, members can download the form from the Canada Life PDSP member services website or contact the Canada Life PDSP member. Contact centre. Canada Life can be reached at 1-855-415-4414 (toll-free within North America), Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., your local time, or 1-431-489-4064 (international, collect).

Submitting Claims to Sun Life before Nov. 1

Plan members are reminded to keep their contact information up to date with Sun Life, the current PDSP administrator. It’s important that both Sun Life and Canada Life can contact you during the transition period.
