- 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. — Speaker: Tim Speed
Our speaker will be Tim Speed, a volunteer with the Canadian Warplanes Heritage Museum in Hamilton. Tim’s presentation is entitled, “Stories of Courage.” It includes stories of heroism of Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) members which is particularly appropriate since this year, 2024, marks the 84th anniversary of the Battle of Britain and the 80th anniversary of D-Day. During WWII there were many individual acts of heroism. Tim’s presentation will feature the story of four individuals whose heroic actions under the pressures of wartime battles saved the lives of others. Three were Canadian, one was a woman. Two gave their lives and two survived the Second World War.
Lunch includes an appetizer, chicken parmesan with pasta, dessert, tea and coffee. If any members have allergies or food sensitivities, please advise us and we will do our best, with the hotel, to accommodate any dietary needs
If you are not on a call list and wish to reserve a place for the lunch, please contact Laraine Spencer, director-at-large, by phone at (905) 994-3265 or by email at lms9lms9@gmail.com.
