Eastern Manitoba

We welcome you to the Eastern Manitoba Branch of the National Association of Federal Retirees.  Our Branch has about 680 members, largely retired employees of Atomic Energy of Canada Limited’s Whiteshell Laboratories. Most members live in Pinawa, Lac du Bonnet, Beausejour and Whitemouth and surrounding regions.  Our Branch was incorporated in 1993 by a committee of employees advocating for improvements in pension, healthcare and death benefits.

The principal role of our Branch is to provide service our members by disseminating information, holding semi-annual meetings where we provide a free buffet lunch and arranging for a speaker to provide information on a wide variety of topics of interest to our members.  We also engage in advocating for pensioners from the Public Service, Canadian Forces and RCMP.  We also issue quarterly newsletters that are also posted on our website.  Please click on the Advocacy menu bar to see how your membership helps to secure your benefits, and to learn more about our current campaign, Honour Your Promise.  Explore the National website for topics of interest, and association partners at your leisure.

We endeavour to update our site regularly and invite you to check for the latest information.

Feel free to share our website information with other federal retirees, whether or not they are members.  We welcome your comments and suggestions.  We look forward to meeting you at our future events.

We are continually looking for volunteers to serve on our board and for volunteers who are interested in short-term projects.  If you have a skill that you are willing to share with us, please contact me.

Thanks
