The Pensioners’ Dental Services Plan is a voluntary dental plan which provides dental coverage to eligible federal pensioners and their family members.
The Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat has announced new Pensioners’ Dental Services Plan (PDSP) monthly contribution rates that will come into effect April 1, 2025.
The PDSP monthly contribution rates are found on the Government of Canada website.
Contribution rates for PDSP members are reviewed annually and adjusted to maintain the 50:50 (pensioner:employer) cost-sharing ratio. Contribution rates increase when overall pensioner plan costs have increased.
The PDSP contribution rates were last updated in 2017.
As contributions are owed one month in advance, the new rates will be reflected in the retired members’ March 2025 pension payment for April coverage.
Contribution rates for dependants of veterans with coverage under the Veterans Affairs Canada Dental Services Program will also change. Please contact your Pension Office for additional information. The National Association of Federal Retirees has called on the government to improve the PDSP benefits. There have been no changes to the benefits since it was created, yet the cost of services as well as medical advancements have changed since then. Members have told us that improvements, such as an increase to the annual maximum, are needed.
The Association has shared this feedback with Treasury Board of Canada representatives, and it continues to push the government to make improvements to the PDSP.
