Updates regarding the Ottawa Valley Branch 2024 AGM
Greetings from the National Association of Federal Retirees! On March 25, 2024, the Ottawa Valley Branch held its 2024 annual general meeting (AGM) at the Carleton Place Canoe Club. However, due to a lack of quorum, no official business could be conducted, and the AGM was postponed to a future date.
The branch held a new meeting online (via Zoom) on June 27, 2024. Unfortunately, quorum was not reached at that meeting either.
Representatives from the national board of directors and staff from the Association’s national office attended the meeting. They suggested that the situation be reported to the national board of directors so that it may appoint members to form the branch’s executive and allow the branch to operate again. It was also suggested that the new executive, once appointed, review the branch’s bylaws and modify the quorum requirements to reduce the number of members required to achieve quorum at member meetings.
