Meet Bob Stennett:
Bob has been a member of Bluewater Branch 36 since 2010. He joined because he had heard about the Association from an acquaintance and felt that he would like more information.
Bob is a 13 year cancer survivor. He believes in “pay it forward”, so with that in mind he pursues a hobby of making birdhouses. All of the birdhouses he builds are donated to charity. Some are given especially to children who have suffered or are suffering from severe or life threatening illnesses. Our branch has been lucky to be the recipient of two of these creations.
Personally, Bob has been married to Gayle for 51 years. He has one son and two granddaughters and a beautiful rescue dog named Jessie. Bob grew up in Forest, Ontario. During his time with the military he moved around. Following his retirement from the military he was with the Ministry of Corrections from 1984 to 2011. He lived in Goderich and worked at the youth correctional facility. Following his retirement from the Ministry of Corrections they moved back to Sarnia.
Bob was also part of the first ground crew with the Canadian Forces Snowbirds.
Bob has many stories to tell from both his military life and his time with corrections.
Next time you are at a meeting and you see Bob, say hi and maybe, if you are lucky he will tell you a story or two.
